Thanks to everyone who came to my exhibition with Maria Bezantakou, Aneta Ciesielska and The Poliedre platform of artists in Barcelona at Espai Mallorca in Plaça Vicenç Martorell, 1-2. Our exhibition was part of the Vertex Festival that happens each year in Barcelona. The artists who participate in the festival are members of the “POLÍEDRE” group (artists from different cultural origins living in Barcelona) with the collaboration of local artists.

In my first solo exhibition for 7 years I’ll be exhibiting one of my huge photographic montages that draws material and inspiration from the past 12 years when I've been documenting the dramatic transformations changing the face of the neighbourhood of Poblenou in Barcelona.
In keeping with the ethos of our ‘Abandoned?’ project my exhibition is being held in ‘Casa del Mig’, which is the only surviving building from the huge factory complex of España Industrial that was once the biggest cotton industry in Spain, in fact it was Spain’s biggest factory for decades. In 1969 it was closed and in 1985 the Parc de l'Espanya Industrial opened on the factory's previous 50 000 m2 site.
I'm feeling very excited and spoilt to have new studio space with my friends at the art collective 'La Fundició' in their old industrial complex on c/Pallars, Poblenou, Barcelona. Now I'll now have plenty of space to work on bigger projects and to create a mess(!), whilst also maintaining my digital studio for my computer based projects and teaching.
The group of art activists, 'P9Artiu' (that I am a founding member of) will be presenting its project for the first time to the public on Friday 15th April at Can Ricart, c/Marroc, Poblenou, Barcelona (behind Poblenou's Central Park).
The weekend of events called 'Cooperate To Make A City' will start at 18:30 with an introduction and greetings by Ada Colau (Mayoress of Barcelona). P9Artiu will be part of the 'Culture and Creation on Pere IV Round Table' in the Sala Ricson at 19:45. Then at 21:00 Geppe Monrós and myself will be presenting our documentary film '¿Abandonado?' (Spanish version). The weekend will continue with many events, discussions and new initiatives. Please click here to view the full program.
There is a double page spread about me as an artist in the magazine 'El Poblenou'. The article has a particular focus on how the neighbourhood of Poblenou in Barcelona has been a huge influence on my art practice over the past decade. Written in Spanish. Click on the image to read the article.
One of my photographic montages is a finalist in the 5th edition of 'Creative', a digital creation with Photoshop competition. It is exhibited at the IEFC (Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia) in Barcelona from the 20th January - 27th February 2016. For more information about the different exhibition venues click here.
I am working with the artist group 'P9Artiu' and a group of geo-artivists called Constelaciones to develop a web application called 'Habitat Creatiu' (creative habitat). The application uses open-source GIS (geographic information systems) and will provide a voice and face to individual artists (initially in Poblenou in Barcelona) at any given point in time. More info to follow.
We shall be presenting our project at the Hangar centre for arts production and research in Barcelona on Friday 4th December at 19:30. Everyone is welcome. More info [ click here ]
A video preview of my latest large format photographic montage will be shown at the collective exhibition 'Poblenou Hàbitat Creatiu' at Can Felipa, Poblenou, Barcelona from 10th September until 10th October 2015. I shall be presenting the video and talking about the project on 3 consecutive Tuesdays (22, 29 Sept and 06 Oct) from 18:00 - 19:00.

I've been working with the designer Adrian Smith on this project to create a VIP venue for viewing the Rugby World Cup matches. My work involved motion graphics and graphic design work. [ click here to view the video ]
The Spanish version of our film called ¿Abandonado? is screened on national Spanish TV (La 2) for the second time at 21:00 on August 14th 2015.
My next large or should I say huge format photographic montage is now well under way. It has the potential of being printed at over 5 metres in width and the Photoshop file I am working with is over 5.5GB and increasing daily. It's a massive project but very exciting. Here is a tiny snippet and I shall be posting more teasers over these coming weeks.
